Rider maintenance
Rider Maintenance is a quiet space within Goetz’s work that explores what it means to look after the person behind the controls, not just the machine.
It sits alongside the craft of restoration and service, asking a simple question.
Whilst your ride gets serviced, who looks after you?
Every vehicle owner understands maintenance.
You listen for changes in sound.
You notice resistance.
You stop before something small becomes something costly.
You service your vehicle not because something has failed, but because you want the journey to remain reliable and enjoyable.
Most men are far less attentive with themselves.
Life keeps moving.
Work continues.
Responsibilities stack.
So we keep going.
Even when the engine feels strained.
Even when the steering is less sure.
Even when the road feels heavier than it once did.

Who makes sure your tank is full?
Who checks your pressure when things feel heavy?
Who helps clear your vision when the road gets crowded?
When was your last proper pit stop?
Not a distraction.
Not a holiday.
A considered service.
Rider Maintenance is about tending to your own wellbeing so you can stay steady, present, and capable.
It is not about fixing something broken.
It is about noticing wear before damage sets in.
Maintenance rather than crisis.
Awareness rather than urgency.
So you can stay on track safely, and still enjoy the ride.
One expression of rider maintenance is having someone who rides alongside you.

The wingman
Goetz Neugebauer works alongside men who want steadier ground beneath their feet, clearer relationships, and a stronger sense of direction in their work and lives.
After more than forty years in male dominated environments, he understands the quiet pressure many men carry, and the cost of running on empty for too long.
This work grew from lived experience, not theory.
It is informed by training in men’s coaching, business coaching, leadership, and nature based practices, alongside years of work in social settings and long term mentoring with men.
Goetz has spent decades learning how men respond under pressure, how they lead, how they disconnect, and what helps them return to themselves before things begin to fray.
The emphasis is not on method, labels, or fixing.
It is on presence, discernment, and knowing when to slow down before pressure turns into damage.
Over time, parts of this work will be shared more openly.
For now, it remains grounded in conversation, presence, and relationship.
Men come to this work for different reasons;
-
Grounding and self understanding
-
Relationship strain and life transitions
-
Career pressure, leadership, and change
There is no fixed program. The work meets you where you are.
The shape of the work
The work happens one on one and in small groups, with a strong preference for being together in person.
Many conversations take place outdoors, through walk and talk time in forest and natural settings. Moving side by side often allows honesty to surface more easily than sitting across from each other.
The approach is grounded, practical, and responsive to what is actually needed.

This work is informed by long standing involvement in men’s communities and training.
